I did add an extra piece of cardboard inside the second build, otherwise it might have not withstood the rougher handling in the hands of the recipient.

Good idea. I have thought many times about suggesting the extra cardboard for those who want to "play around" with the model, so I am glad you came up with the idea on your own. The way the model is designed, it works better as a display piece.
